FIND/SVP is a $40 million knowledge services company that through its living research engine helps clients make better decisions. Part of the FIND/SVP family of companies includes its multi-million dollar Strategic Consulting Division. This division is currently witnessing unprecedented growth and as such is seeking to fill a key role within the practice. The division, typically assists clients in assessing markets, identifying opportunities and creating go-to-market strategies by leveraging FIND/SVP's unique multi-disciplined approach.
The primary responsibilities of the Director, Consumer Products and Services practice are to develop and lead this group, develop and nurture existing client relationships, identify and close new business, manage practice engagements and meet practice profitability targets.
The director will consult with clients regarding needs and expectations and aggressively pursue leads from all sources, including but not limited to existing and potential clients for our firm. S/he will oversee the project budget parameters during initial consultations to insure that proposals are in scoped in accordance with client expectations and demands for budgets and timing. S/he will maintain proactive contact with clients and prospects, and promote the business through association membership and conference attendance, speeches and articles, as well as mailings, etc. to insure that the group meets or exceeds all targets.
Serious candidates should possess at minimum a Bachelor's degree. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is very desirable. S/he should have a minimum of 8-10 years experience in business development and management of consulting and research activities, along with a record of managing projects that have multiple complexities, which require research, writing, analysis, and executive-level presentation skills. Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential: consumer package goods, household products, retail and apparel, food and beverage, cosmetics and personal care.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, high personal standards, high degree of creativity, ability to develop intellectual capital and professional ethics. S/he must be a team player and have strong lateral management and persuasive skills. S/he must have the spirit, ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment that does not afford the administrative support of a larger corporation, necessitating all team members to multi-task and work “hands on”.
